Is the pub crawl running right now?

Yes, two ways. Most nights Spirits With The Spirits runs as a private crawl for one group, on your date, quoted per group from $400. A few times a year we open a public night and sell seats at $55 per person through our TripWorks calendar; the next one is listed at the top of this site when one is scheduled.

How much does the pub crawl cost?

Public nights are $55 per person, 21+, drinks not included. Private crawls are quoted per group and start at $400 for up to 16 guests. Booking direct carries a full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour.

Which bars do we visit?

Three stops on Flagstaff's Southside, south of the railroad tracks. First round at Mother Road Brewing Company on Mikes Pike, a second Southside stop your guide picks for the night, and last call at Historic Brewing's Barrel + Bottle House on South San Francisco Street, where you are welcome to stay on. The middle stop rotates with availability.

Where do we meet?

Outside the front door of Mother Road Brewing Company, 7 S Mikes Pike, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, just south of the railroad tracks. Arrive about 15 minutes before start time and look for your guide in Southwestern Gothic attire. The crawl ends a short walk away on South San Francisco Street.

Where do we park?

There is metered and free street parking around Mikes Pike, South San Francisco Street and South Beaver Street, and the Downtown Connection Center transit hub is a short walk from the meeting point. Downtown garages are a few minutes north across the tracks if the Southside is full.

Who can come on the crawl?

Everyone on the reservation must be 21 or older and bring a valid driver's license or ID; the bars check at the door, and so do we. Couples, friend groups, birthday crews, bachelorette weekends and work teams are the usual company.

Do I have to drink alcohol?

No. Every stop pours non-alcoholic options too, so a designated driver or a non-drinker has a good night as well. The stories are the point; the drinks are the bonus.

Are drinks included in the price?

No. Drinks are purchased at each stop and are never required. Budget for the rounds you want; your guide will recommend what to order at each bar.

How long is the crawl and how far do we walk?

About two hours and roughly one mile of Southside sidewalk at an easy pace, broken up by three seated bar stops, so you spend a good part of the night sitting down. Flagstaff sits at 7,000 feet, so bring water and pace the rounds.

Are the ghost stories real?

The history is documented and the haunted locations are real. Every story comes from co-founder Susan Johnson's original research, the historian and author behind Wicked Flagstaff, Haunted Flagstaff and The Walkup Family Murders. Where the record goes quiet, your guide says so.

Is it scary?

Atmospheric, not a haunted house. Nobody jumps out at you. The crawl is true crime and ghost lore told well, over a drink, by a guide who knows these blocks. The darkest material is the 1916 case, and it is told with care.

What should I wear?

Comfortable shoes and layers. Flagstaff weather changes fast, and nights are cold from October through May even when the day was warm. Check the forecast for your tour end time and dress to your comfort.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund inside 24 hours. If we ever cancel a night, you get a full refund or a free rebooking, your choice.

Can we book it for a birthday, bachelorette or work night out?

Yes, that is what the private crawl is for. Your own guide, your date, your people only, up to 16 guests, from $400 per group. Send an inquiry with your date and head count and we will build the night around your group.

Does the crawl run in winter?

Yes. The bar stops break up the walk, so a snowy night is part of the atmosphere rather than a problem. Dress for it and we run rain, snow or starlight.

Is the route wheelchair or mobility friendly?

The route is about one mile of city sidewalks and street crossings on the Southside, with seated stops at every bar. Guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility have joined before; tell us when you book and the guide will plan the route and pace for your group.

Who leads the crawl?

Freaky Foot Tours' Flagstaff storytellers, the same guides behind the city's original ghost tour, in Southwestern Gothic attire. The stories are researched by co-founder Susan Johnson; the telling is the guide's own.

How is this different from the Southside Haunted History Tour?

Same blocks, different night. The Southside Haunted History Tour is a 90-minute all-ages walking tour by private booking. Spirits With The Spirits is the 21+ version with three bar stops, a seat at every round and the stories that suit a drink in hand.

Why is it called Spirits With The Spirits?

Because that is the night: spirits in your glass, spirits in the stories, told in the part of Flagstaff where both have the longest history.
